Usually, when an organization is funded to deliver a service, they are obligated to deliver that service even if it is ineffective. However, when funding is tied to results, organizations can experiment with new and impactful ways to achieve their outcomes. To deliver impactful outcomes to the communities that you serve you need to think expansively and promote new discoveries. Results-based financing can be a powerful tool to achieve that.
This course will help mid-sized mission-driven organizations evaluate results-based financing as an option for their organization and plan for this type of funding. In this course, you will learn about the expectations of results-based financing, the various type of results-based financing available, and organizations who have had great success moving to a results-based financing approach.
This results-based financing course is best suited for medium-sized nonprofit organizations who have a clear understanding of their outcomes as well as robust and reliable data collection to measure those outcomes. Organizations who have a robust theory of change and are experienced in measuring their activities and results will find this course most useful. This course will help organizations evaluate if results-based financing is a good fit for them, but it will be important to start with a solid measurement system as a foundation for this course.
